Retro Pay 401(K)/457 Plan Deferral Meetings



Employees interested in deferring part of their Retroactive Wage Adjustment (RWA) check should attend upcoming meetings on our property with representatives from the MTA Tax Favored Programs Unit and Prudential.

If you have never participated in the program, now may be a good time to enroll in the Deferred Compensation Plan. You may do so by meeting with one of the Prudential Representatives or you can log onto the Prudential website www.prudential.com/mta to enroll.

 

Meeting dates, times and locations are: 

  • Oct. 8, 3-5 PM; New Haven, CDOT Room A 4th Fl. West 
  • Oct. 10, 8-10 AM; 347 Madison Ave., 5th Fl. Boardroom
  • Oct. 14, Noon-2 PM; 347 Madison Ave., 5th Fl. Boardroom  
  • Oct. 15, 3-5 PM; Croton-Harmon, Lunchroom, Car Shop  
  • Oct. 16, 8-10 AM; North White Plains, 525 Training Room 

 

If you are unable to attend a meeting, all eligible employees will be receiving information via email or a letter mailed to your home.

  • Isn’t It Every Week At Metro-North?

    This week (October 6-10) is National Customer Service Week, designed to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays at many companies. At Metro-North, we would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of all of you, in every department of the railroad, who are always aware of what it takes to provide excellent customer service 365 days a year.   • Supervisors: Final 2014 Enrollment

    The “Supervising for Safety" course, which focuses on basic management and leadership skills related to safety, is entering its final enrollment push. This all-day course is mandatory for all Operations employees that supervise others. Upcoming sessions are on October 8, 9, 28 and 29 in the Business Recovery Center, 525 N. Broadway, N.   • Mandatory Anti-Nepotism Training

    Metro-North's Anti-Nepotism training is a MUST for all employees who participate in hiring decisions. This is not just for executive or corporate leadership, it is for any MNR employee who has any involvement in the hiring process, and has or will participate in the employment screening process.   • What Does It Mean To Retire?

    If you are within five years of retirement OR age 50 and above, you can find out what retirement is going to mean to you at the series of Retirement Seminars being held in October by the MTA Defined Benefit Pension Plan, Railroad Retirement and Prudential Financial representatives. The seminars will be held in GCT, Croton-Harmon, New Haven and NWP. See schedule.

    The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) NY Chapter is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Thurs., Oct. 9th, with a reception/dinner event to recognize the outstanding contributions of Danny Camacho, Eric Fantauzzi, Maria Concepcion Garcia and Edward Melendez.   • Learn CPR!

    Join the many employees who have already received invaluable CPR training from our Safety Department. With CPR certification, you have the skills that can help double or even triple a cardiac emergency victim's chance of survival. To get training, compile a list of eight to 12 coworkers who want to get certified. (You need your supervisor's approval to take this course during your regular work day.) Then, find a conference room or facility with A/V equipment and ample open floor space to accommodate everyone. Your manager must put in a request for CPR/AED training with Matthew Peloso, Assistant Chief - Safety & Security, at 914-461-0462 or peloso@mnr.org.

  • Build Your Core

    Metro-North managers who want to be more effective leaders can sign up for the Leadership Core 1 Development Program! Participants get effective coaching assistance, positive and developmental feedback, tips on how to manage conflict and more. All sessions are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM in GCT, Hall B, 7th fl. in the Training Studio on the following dates: Oct. 13 - 16, Nov. 10 - 13. More dates in 2015.   • EAP On The Move

    Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) office will be moving to a new location at 110 E. 42nd street (Suite 1301, 13th FL.) in November 2014.     Make sure you don't miss receiving important info such as W-2 forms, health insurance details, etc. because the MTA BSC has an old address! Log onto http://www.mtabsc.info/, go to the "Self-Service Tools" box and click on "All About Me" to check or change your mailing address (as well as your name, phone number, email address and emergency contact). Once you have updated your information, you will receive an email confirmation.
